Rachel Polednak

Rachel started her yoga practice 25 years ago in Las Vegas after stumbling upon a yoga class at the gym. After a few years of practicing she found not only did it help keep her fit, but it also kept her mind steady and more focused. One of Rachel's teachers approached her suggesting that she should teach yoga. From there Rachel became a certified yoga teacher in Vinyasa Flow, Yin, and Hatha yoga. Knowing that she craved more of the yoga world; Rachel decided to join the Iyengar community at the suggestion of a friend and has never looked back. Iyengar Yoga was like coming home to the real thing. Rachel earned her Level 1 certification as an Iyengar Yoga teacher in 2022 and assists Aileen Epstein-Ignadiou with the Iyengar Yoga Center. She is extremely grateful to have been under the guidance of such a devoted Iyengar teacher. Rachel also feels very blessed to be currently studying under Gloria Goldberg. In addition, Rachel currently serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Iyengar Yoga Association.

Adam Vitolo

Adam is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and has been teaching the Iyengar method since 2000.  Adam has been a faculty member at the Iyengar Institute of New York since 2007.  He is also a member of the original faculty at PURE Yoga studios in NYC, and is the co-lead teacher of their 200hr teacher training program.  In January 2009, Adam concluded a length of study with the Iyengar family at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India.

Adam found Iyengar Yoga as he searched for rehabilitation after he was struck by a car while cycling in 1998, and has been practicing ever since.  He initially used Yoga to regain strength after the accident, but found that Yoga not only gave him the ability to strengthen his body but also laid out the framework to strengthen his mind.

Adam teaches the Iyengar Method through his own experience with clear and mindful instruction.  Helping his students navigate through the body with the application of the mind; allowing them to have an experience that is full and profound.  He incorporates Yogic Philosophy and humor into his teaching to help his students not take themselves too seriously, and give them the opportunity to understand that Yoga is not just a practice that takes place on the mat in class, but an opportunity to develop an internal awareness that can truly transform their life.

Adam currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Iyengar Yoga Association of the Southwest.
